Shock attenuation using Riemann invariants (shock rarefaction interaction)

I have been trying to use Riemann invariants to solve a rarefaction wave overtaking a shock wave. Has anyone had any luck with using Section 83 in Courant and Friedrichs? I’ve checked edition 1 and 2- are all the notations, and references to other sections correct in this section? Also, it looks like the approach ignores the reflection of the invariants at the regions of varying entropy (eventhough it seems to account for entropy change across the invariants’ path). Would this produce reasonable results? Thank you for your advice. (I did find related posts by TRF and felasfa, but they seem to have worked on a different method)
