How to simultaneously connect to two different networks via WiFi access points (laptop with one WiFi card)

I wish to use a laptop and simultaneously connect wirelessly to an intranet and to the Internet. Assume the subnet IP address ranges are 192.168.0.X for the network with Internet access and 10.10.0.X for the intranet. I’m running Arch Linux on a 2017 model Lenovo ThinkPad. It seems that my wireless card supports combinations. I do not fully understand all the output below, but I think it confirms that my card can function in several modes at the same time.

iw list | grep -A 2 'interface combination'
valid interface combinations:
* #{ managed } <= 1, #{ AP, P2P-client, P2P-GO } <= 1, #{ P2P-device } <= 1,
total <= 3, #channels <= 2

I used this answer to get started: https://askubuntu.com/a/488604/36661

I have verified that the following command succeeds:

iw dev wlan0 interface add wlan1 type station

After running that command, I see this interface:

4: wlan1: mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000
link/ether c6:d1:7c:2b:1a:b2 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

However, I am not having success connecting that interface to the second access point. First I tried the NetworkManager GUI, where I created a new wireless connection, gave it a random MAC address, assigned it to the new wlan1 virtual interface and set all the other properties as I normally would. But NetworkManager did not give me the option to connect to it.

As a second step, I tried nmcli as shown:

nmcli c up wlan1_virtual
Error: Connection activation failed: No suitable device found for this connection.

My next step was:

ip link set dev wlan1 up
RTNETLINK answers: Device or resource busy

What should I do next?

BTW, I have read conflicting answers on this subject. The answer linked above indicates this is possible, but this one says it is not possible. But the accepted answer on that question says it is possible. So far, it seems there are more "yes, it's possible" answers. So I am forging ahead.

$ uname -a
Linux 4.18.7-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Sep 9 11:27:58 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If more info is needed, I'll provide it.

Is it normal for a website to show an API key in plain text that allows full access to your personal information?

I noticed some websites do this and I am not sure if this is normal or not. So for example, on some websites, I go into setting and can create an API key that will be visible in plain text. Also, seems like a lot of HTTP requests have an API key visible in the URL. Something like this "http://www.myWebsite/user?apiKey=(apiKey)". Any insight on this is appreciated.

How can I access my Windows from Grub again?

I have been dual booting Ubuntu and Windows 10 for quite a while now and noticed that after the most recent update in Ubuntu, I cannot access my Windows 10 partition from Grub anymore.

I have already reinstalled/repaired Grub and even updated it.

Does anyone have an idea how to go about this

Cheers,

Do all of the Stack Exchange staff have access to a user’s information?

When a user of Stack Exchange runs into trouble, e.g. gets into an argument with another user or moderator and incurs a suspension, I understand that volunteer diamond moderators and some Stack Exchange staff (Community Managers + the staff that gets the Contact Us messages) have access to a user’s history.

I was wondering whether anyone who works at Stack Exchange also has the same access to a user’s history – people from the CEO, to the VP of Marketing/Sales, all the way down to, let’s say the kitchen staff.

Cannot access internet via Wi-Fi on YU Yureka running Lollipop

I have a YU Yureka mobile which upgraded to Android Lollipop version. I have been regularly using my office’s Wi-Fi connection. For some days, the phone is showing that Wi-Fi is connected, but I can’t access the Internet through Wi-Fi. When I connect the phone to a Wi-Fi network, I can access Internet for 30 seconds and then my phone would hang and then restart automatically.

There are more than twenty employees in my office, but only my phone has this problem. I have done soft reset and hard reset to solve the issue. It works perfectly for Mobile data network.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Mobile only CORS Error: Origin is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin In Node.js

I’ve set up a Node.js (TypeScript) app for CORS but I’m still getting errors (Origin is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin) on mobile–desktop works fine.

I’ve searched but there are so many questions about getting this set up in general, I can’t find why it specifically isn’t working for mobile.

    this.app.use(cors());
    this.app.options('*', cors());

    router.use(function(req, res, next) {
          res.header('Content-Type', 'application/json');
          res.setHeader('Access-Control-Allow-Origin', '*');
          res.setHeader('Access-Control-Allow-Methods', 'DELETE,GET,OPTIONS,PATCH,POST');
          res.setHeader('Access-Control-Allow-Headers', 'Origin, Accept, Authorization, Content-Type, X-Requested-With, Access-Control-Allow-Headers, Access-Control-Request-Method, Access-Control-Request-Headers');
          next();
        });

Are there any JSON based notations for Access Control Lists? (Alternative to S-Expression)

I’m looking for a notation that is familiar to modern developers and can supersede s-Notation. (additional insight into Rivest’s proposal of s-Expression is here)

Is there any Swagger, JSON or other notation that is very intuitive for ACL control?
