Is there a way to basically start a counter from a given frame in ffmpeg?

I want to perform a simple calculation to move an image along the video with given frames as the length of the animation:

overlay=x='( 1 * INDEX)':y='(1 * INDEX)':enable='between(t,438/25,450/25)'

Obviously INDEX doesn’t exist, but for the start frame of 438, I want index to equal 0, for the frame 439 I want INDEX to equal 1, and so on and so forth.

The goal is to have the image move one pixel for every frame after 438 and hide it at frame 450

wiring a kitchen under counter oven – is this setup correct?

Create a counter column in R Data.Table, with a condition on another column

I am trying to count the years a product has been on offer since recorded history.

In the example below, I’d like to start the counter at the first non-zero sales recorded.

Note that I may have zero recorded sales in the next few years, but the counter should count the years as valid.

I experimented with rleid, but cannot figure out a way to differentiate the initial 0s vs. within-lifespan 0s.

A simple counter example for Open Mapping Theorem when Linearity Assumption is Dropped

I was studying on Follan’s Real Analysis book and in Chapter 5.3, I saw the Open Mapping Theorem which stated (with some adjustment) as follows:

Let $X,Y$ be Banach spaces and $T:Xto Y$ be linear and bounded operator. If $T$ is surjective, then $T$ maps open sets to open set.

Then, based on the expression above, I expect if $T$ is nonlinear then the conclusion must fail. So I consider an example as follows: Let $X=Y=mathbb{R}$ be (simplest?) Banach spaces and then take a mapping $f: mathbb{R} to mathbb{R}$ with $f(x) = x^2$. Then consider open interval $U:=(-1,1)$ then $f(U) = [0,1)$ which is not open. Is my thinking correct?

Is anecdotal evidence enough to counter a broad generalization?

Is anecdotal evidence enough to counter a broad generalization?

I just had an argument with someone who asked for a scientific study to back up what I was arguing for in order to counter their broad generalization, but no such study exists.

I am pretty sure that they knew what they were doing and were going to make an appeal to ignorance from that but anecdotal evidence is all I could offer.

ordinal number counter part for “a few tens”

I wonder if there is a way to refer a range of ordinal numbers.

For example, I am tempted to rephrase a sentence like

“depending on the situation, people after somewhere between 10th to 90th will not get the book. The number of books is expected to be a few tens.”

as

“~ people after a few ten-th will not get the book”.

But I think there is no such expression.
Such expression is often used in my mother tongue. So I wonder if there is a proper way to state such situation in English.
