PC unusable after deleting files from WindowsApps

One problem led to another, so I really needed to perform a system restore and unfortunately I am aware that my pc has always had a problem with this and I just can’t restore. So I set out to fix this issue so I would able to use this feature.

The error was:

System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and
settings were not changed.

Details:
System Restore failed while restoring the directory from the restore point.
Source: AppxStaging
Destination: %ProgramFiles%WindowsApps
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070091)

Then some forums including a microsoft one (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/93a0d2a2-d9f1-4b57-97b9-0ca30de656aa/system-restore-failed-source-appxstaging-error-0x80070091?forum=win10itproapps) had a suggestion that you could delete or rename the C:/Program Files/WindowsApps folder.

Specific procedure is noted here
enter image description here
So I did this and then rebooted and realised hey, my pc has a black screen and a cursor and nothing else.

One minor problem led to the pc being unusable. Willing to try anything? But it seems like I’m going to have to install windows again :'(

The folder didn’t get deleted for some reason access is denied but I believe it deleted 99% of the files that were in it.

JavaFX deleting from TableView

I’m working on a JavaFX app and am using a TableView as part of the GUI as follows:

public TableView meals;

And to it I assigned a button that is supposed to delete elements which are selected. To do that I used a function that kept giving me a NoSuchElementException

public void deleteMealButtonClicked()
{
    ObservableList mealsSelected = meals.getSelectionModel().getSelectedItems();
    ObservableList allMeals = meals.getItems();

    mealsSelected.forEach(allMeals::remove);
}

I debugged my way into finding out the problem was in the last line of the method.

After researching for quite a while, I happened to stumble across a piece of code that solved the problem. Here is the method with the code that works:

public void deleteMealButtonClicked()
{
    ObservableList mealsSelected = meals.getSelectionModel().getSelectedItems();
    ObservableList allMeals = meals.getItems();

    if (mealsSelected != null) {
        ArrayList rows = new ArrayList<>(mealsSelected);
        rows.forEach(row -> meals.getItems().remove(row));
    }
}

My question is, why does the second method work and not the first? Aren’t they fundamentally the same thing, other than adding the selected rows to an ArrayList on the second method?

Thank you in advance.

Deleting comments from .tex file? [duplicate]

This question already has an answer here:

  • Utility to Strip Comments from LaTeX Source

    8 answers

I’m new to LaTeX and I’m just starting to create my own little template. I’m putting comments everywhere to make it easier to remember what command does what.

I’d like to have a seperate file that does not contain those comments though. Is there any easy way I can delete all comments from a .tex file?

Thanks

ArcGIS Pro/Online: deleting a field “General function failure[Incorrect syntax near ‘,’. Incorrect syntax near’,’.]”

In ArcGIS Pro I accidentally deleted two fields by clicking the “Delete Field” button at the top of the attribute table. The two fields were “GlobalID” and “Appointment”. I was trying to delete selected features at the time. Now I can’t edit or delete any features in this layer. I get an error message of: “Update table row. Failed to “Update table row”. General function failure[Incorrect syntax near ‘,’. Incorrect syntax near’,’.]”. If I click on one of the features in the Map window the deleted fields still appear, but instead of having information about them they just say the field name again. Preferably I could restore these fields and go back to where I was previously. Otherwise, how do I push this delete through to the individual features. “GlobalID” has no bearing on my workflow, and “Appointment” will only affect a few features at this point.

Android- Room (Cannot rollback – no transaction is active) when deleting records

I want to delete each time the whole table Employees. The table consists of 1 million records(100mb). When I execute the code below I get the message below and a low disk storage in emulator. I increased the storage and runs it again but after a while throws the same error and again low storage. It seems that it takes all the device storage for some reason.

Very important notes

  1. If records decreased to 25k,deletion works fine.
  2. If I remove the code with the live data and observer, deletion works fine with 1 million records.
  3. If I put a different live data and observer, that observes to a different table other than Employee, deletion works fine.
  4. In API 27 runs well. Although It takes some time to delete. APIS 19,21,23 not working.

Any ideas? Is this a bug?

Code

@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
((BasicApp) getApplication()).getRepository().getNotifyEmployee().observe(this,new Observer() {

                @Override
                public void onChanged(@Nullable Integer number) {
                    //staff
                }
});

  executors.diskIO().execute(new Runnable() {
    @Override
    public void run() {
        mDatabase.repoEmployee().deleteEmployees();
     });
  }

}

Dao

  @Dao
  public interface EmployeeDao {

    @Query("DELETE FROM Employee")
    void deleteEmployees();
  }

How does deleting work? What can cause a post to be deleted, and what does that actually mean? What are the criteria for deletion?

What circumstances can cause a question or answer to be deleted, and what does that actually mean?

  • How can a post be deleted?
  • When can’t I delete my own post?
  • Can I see a list of my deleted posts?
  • How can I undelete one of my posts?
  • What does deletion mean for a post?
  • How do votes to delete work?
  • What are the criteria for deletion?
  • What else should I know about deleted posts?
  • If I flag my question with a request to delete it, what will happen?

Deactivate auxiliary field labeling after deleting the table?

This may be a bug, but perhaps somebody knows of a workaround:

I have a layer that previously used auxiliary fields for labeling, but I want to revert to data-defined labeling instead. I have deleted the auxiliary storage table, but I don’t know how to disassociate my label properties with the auxiliary storage. Each of the selection boxes in Label Properties now shows as red, because QGIS is looking for auxiliary fields that are now deleted. However, there’s no option to “deactivate” these fields, and no way I know of to clear all settings so that they’re unassigned.

My workaround is to assign each setting to an existing data field, then deactivate those settings I don’t intend to use. But this is tedious, and probably slower than just rebuilding the layer from scratch. Is there some way to revert all label properties to their initial state (i.e., unassigned)?

Un-deleting folder accidentally deleted in ArcCatalog?

aka “dude where’s my OOPS command?”

I accidentally hit the DEL key with a folder selected in ArcCatalog, and it’s apparently gone forever. There was no warning message shown, and it doesn’t go into the Recycle Bin.

Is there a way to recover it, short of restoring a backup?

Edit – it was my fault no warning message was shown, as I had switched off that option in the Recycle Bin settings.

mv deleting files at the end instead of one by one

I am moving a folder recursively between two filesystems using mv -v.
It seems like deletions happen at the end (in order to make mv transactional ?). I don’t have enough space to hold two copies of the same folder, is there a way to force mv to delete a file as soon as it is done?
