Is “Mormon” a disrespectful term?

When I was in Utah, I found myself consciously avoiding the term “Mormon,” in favor of “LDS.” While I understand the term “LDS” means “Latter Day Saint,” what I don’t know is either the provance or connotation of the term ‘Mormon.’

So, first off, why and how did the term “Mormon” come denote members of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, and secondly, is it at all offensive to use the term?

Question: Is it bad and disrespectful if my bf is hanging out with another girl while I’m out of town? And…

I am not sure if my bf of 2 yrs is being disrespectful or maybe I’m just being insecure but everytime I leave town, he contacts girls on fb more, always goes drinking with his guy and girl friends on the weekends where I know he hugs other girls and exes, but this time he Skyped me and he was with a girl walking around at a nature park they used to go to together before I came in the picture while I was out of town. I know too that she sleeps around as a side chick with married men. They had just gotten lunch together too. Maybe I’m being insecure bc he showed everything that he was up to. He didn’t hide anything. I just don’t trust the situation. Am I being unreasonable and insecure? Maybe it’s innocent and my bf is just bored when I’m gone. But how many people think he is playing around making me look like a fool when I leave?

Question: Boyfriend called another woman hot-disrespectful?

My boyfriend was talking to his best guy friend about his counselor and my bf said she was “legit hot.” Then he was joking around about her and blow jobs. When I confronted him about it, he said it’s just dumb guy talk and he was sorry. I still feel gross about it and I can’t help but feel not good enough. Not hot enough. Do guys talk like this? I find it gross and disrespectful…not only to her but to me as someone he says he loves and thinks is beautiful. We’ve been together for 2 years. It keeps popping into my mind and then I get angry all over again. Any input?

Question: Would this be a bad/disrespectful album name and cover?

So we are going to make our first album and we want to call it Standing at the Feet of Kenedy’s Grave. And then the cover would be our band at JFK’s grave. The album is about bad timing and things that don’t work out because of timing issues. The name comes from when we had a show in DC we went to Arlington cemetery after and when we went to see kennedy’s grave there was about 30 people standing around really quiet and a sign up to stay quiet and then we walked up to the grave and our drummers phone rang. It was his girlfriend wondering were he was and he said “we’re standing at the feet of kenedys grave” Everyone just gave us a really bad look. It was really embarrassing but I feel like the story ties into the album pretty well. Would it be disrespectful to name our album this?
