SkillRep – experiment in computing a skill focused reputation

Update: Now offline/closed. See the answer, below.

Reputation, on the Stack Overflow Site, is mostly a measure of a user’s contribution.

That’s fine but sometimes, when looking at a user you encounter on SO, you’re more interested in his skills.
You don’t want a score coming from questions or polluted by a high-scoring answer to a trivial but very popular question.

SkillRep is both

1. a site ranking all users with (a little) less pollution on scoring. The About section explains how the “skill rep” is computed.

enter image description here

2. an extension for Chrome displaying the rank and skill reputation of all users directly in the Stack Overflow site.

Incidentally it’s written in Go. Curious coders might want to have a look at how querying the SE API or serving JSON can be done in Go (it’s fairly simple).

Obviously this shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Effectiveness of “non-focused” learning

Is anything known how effective is “non-focused” learning. For example when I am focused on something else (watching TV, doing work in the office) while listening to language learning material (words and phrases and their translations for example). Or playing scales on your guitar while watching TV (okay, seem to be more invovled then merely listening, but I guess you get the idea).

So is there anything known about that, or any studies on that?

In a photo diode in which region light should be focused to fall?

enter image description here

In this question correct answer given is option $(D)$ that means in a photo diode light should be focused to fall in whole P and N region including the deplection region
but when I googled this site says

This diode is generally operated in reverse bias condition. The light when focused on the depletion region, electron-hole pairs are formed and flow of electron occurs.

So here its says it should be focused only in deplection region.

What is correct ?

apart from this question I want to know the region why it is necessary to do that to point in the particular region?

Computer runs faster on non-focused items?

I have all of the resources to run just about anything with this computer, and haven’t deleted anything important to my computer’s well-being.

Whenever I open a webpage or game, I have to change the windows focus for the game or webpage to run properly. I’m not sure why, because when the task manager performance manager is open, it doesnt show any sort of spikes in usage for any of the available pieces (CPU, GPU, memory, etc.). I can run anything just fine, but it runs much quicker (to the point where if I’m only looking at a webpage, clicking on other things will speed the video, game, etc. up)

Here are the computer specs:
Intel I7-6700
MSI Gtx 1070 Aero
32 Gb HyperX Ram 2400Mhz
9 fans with negative pressure towards the back of the case.
Plenty of storage on all drives, but the OS is on a SSD with 400Gb left

What could cause an issue in which the computer slows down things it is focused on for those that it’s not?

Why isn’t the floating panel focused when clicking on it? [on hold]

The bookmark panel of PDF-XChange Viewer when being focused has a yellow title bar:

However, it can only be focused when being clicked inside the red box. Clicking on other locations (title bar, buttons, scrolling handle, moving it around) doesn’t make it focused at all:

Why is that? I suspect it has something related to the Window manager, but I don’t know exactly why.

How to make field focused in props dialog

I have a script, that create a dialog with one text input:

import bpy

class OFPropConfirmOperator(bpy.types.Operator):
    bl_idname = "view3d.custom_confirm_dialog"
    bl_label = "Generite output folders"

    prop1 = bpy.props.StringProperty()

    @classmethod
    def poll(cls, context):
        return True

    def execute(self, context):
        #do some stuff here
        return {'FINISHED'}

    def invoke(self, context, event):
        return context.window_manager.invoke_props_dialog(self)

    def draw(self, context):
        row = self.layout
        row.prop(self, "prop1", text="New name")

class OFPanel(bpy.types.Panel):
    """Creates a Panel in the Object properties window"""
    bl_idname = "OF_my_panel"
    bl_label = "OF"
    bl_space_type = "VIEW_3D"
    bl_region_type = "TOOLS"
    bl_category = "Tools"

    def draw(self, context):
        layout = self.layout
        layout.operator(OFPropConfirmOperator.bl_idname)

def register():
    bpy.utils.register_class(OFPropConfirmOperator)
    bpy.utils.register_class(OFPanel)

def unregister():
    bpy.utils.unregister_class(OFPanel)
    bpy.utils.unregister_class(OFPropConfirmOperator)

if __name__ == "__main__":
    register()

So, I have a button on the T-panel, that in the panel called OFPanel, this button opens the OFPropConfirmOperator` pop-up window. And everything works fine, but then the pop-up window opens, I need to click on the text field to start editing it. But I want it to work like in renaming markers: then a pop-up window opens, you can edit the text at once

Hotkey to direct Control-V + a script to the focused window?

I need to define a hotkey that does a paste to the focused window, followed by (in my case), /usr/bin/diodon pop, which pops from diodon’s clipboard manager list. So effectively, the hotkey should do: Control-V; my_script. I tried xsel -o, but it didn’t work. Any other ideas how to do this?

how to make focused buttons/items (by TABbing/arrows) actually visible in xfce4 (Xubuntu) using Adwaita-dark theme?

Please, how to make focused buttons/items (by TABbing/arrows) actually visible in Xfce4 (4.12) using Adwaita-dark theme?
It cannot be distinguished :/ and TABbing (TAB key) is not usable :/

I am selecting this theme using menu -> Appearance -> Adwaita-dark.

This is how it looks like in Thunar:

when you press TAB several times you cannot reckognize which button is focused…
