Any sure information about Air France free allowed baggage

I want to book a multiple flight:

around January 3 2019: Bucharest – Buenos Aires

around April 16 2019: Barranquila/Cartagena (northern Colombia) or Panama – Bucharest

I will take with me a 70 l backpack identically to this one.

The problem that I have is that I’m not sure if I can take it for free as included baggage, I’ve found contradictory information and I would not want to pay a lot of money at the airport for my baggage.

So I took a look on skyscanner for flights. The cheapest ones I’ve found are done by KLM and Air France.

About KLM I took a reseach and I’m pretty sure that they don’t allow more than 12 kg of luggage for free so my big bag would not fit in that. If not because of the weight for sure because of the dimensions.

Related to the Air France flight which can be seen on the search result here, the things are not clear to me.

I select ebookers from the list under and it opens this page. I don’t know if the link can be opened so I will put a screen shot.

First flight:

Second flight:

As you can see, the 1st checked in baggage and hand bag is for free. Great!

BUT

If I go to their website and search for my first segment for example, Buchares-Nice, it says that only a 12kg hand luggage is free and for a 23kg one I should pay 25/35$.

Can anyone please clarify this for me?

Tourist or Business visa for France [duplicate]

This question already has an answer here:

  • Schengen visa category required for job interview

    2 answers

I am an international student in the US. I have a job interview invite from an organization in France. I understand that I need to obtain a short-term visa from the French consulate. I was wondering what classification of visit purpose (tourism or business) I should choose from.

When did SHAEF / Eisenhower move HQ from London to France during WWII?

SHAEF meeting
SHAEF meeting in London 1944

Two different reputable sources indicate two different time frames for SHAEF’s move from London to Versailles:

  1. The Military Agency Records of the National Archives indicates “SHAEF was located at London until August 1944; at Versailles, France, August 1944-May 1945; and at Frankfurt, Germany, May-July 1945.”
  2. Wikipedia cites noted military historian Stephen E. Ambrose (Citizen Soldiers, Simon & Schuster, 1997, p. 199) as SHAEF having moved from London to Versailles “by December, 1944” (four months after the date indicated in the National Archives).

Which (if either) is correct – and can additional substantiating documentation be cited?

What makes Pakistan so important for France? [on hold]

  • French President calls Imran Khan to congratulate him on ele ..
  • ‘Pakistan’s paid dearly in war on terror’: France’s Macron tells Imran

I am just curious.

As far as I know Pakistan has long been stopped purchasing French defense equipment (the last deal was Aghosta 90B submarine in 2006). France doesn’t have any significantly known business interest in Pakistan either. There is an insignificant diaspora of Pakistanis in France.

Why was France’s birth rate low from 1800 to WWII?

Inspired by this lemma on Wikipedia as well as a few paragraphs here and there in Piketty’s Capital in the 21st century I’m asking the question how the low birth rate in France between 1800 and WWII could have come about. I see two separate dimensions to this question:

1) What is the socio-economic and/or cultural cause of this low birth rate: e.g. did the French inheritance laws indeed play that big a role (as the Wikipedia page suggests).

2) What contraceptive methods allowed for such a low birth rate? It is difficult to imagine such a low birth rate is entirely due to a lack of sexual intercourse. While I’m relatively ignorant of the historical development of reliable contraceptives, I’ve always viewed this as something of the post-WWII-era. (Presumably I’m mistaken?)

What was Sydney Carton doing in France?

I reread Tale of Two Cities recently and was struck at how coincidental it was that Sydney Carton just happened to be in France during the time of Charles Darnay was accused the second time. Darnay had been imprisoned for a year before that. Why hadn’t Carton gone during that time? How did he know he’d be needed right at that moment? If he was there for Darnay, why wasn’t he at the trial where he was released before he was taken again? Was he there on other business or just to support Darnay? Did I miss something?
