How is the interview process for Niederlassungserlaubnis (settlement permit) in Germany?

If you are a Blue Card Holder and you have worked in Germany for 21 months, you can apply for permanent residency if you have a B1 level in the German Language. In my case, I have taken the courses but didn’t get the certificates. I contacted them and they told me if you don’t have the certificate, you need to prove that you have the B1 level in German during the interview. That’s what I would like to know. What kind of questions do they ask during that interview?

What oath did medical students take in Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945?

Background

While researching the topic of medical ethics in relation to the altruistic nature of the Hippocratic Oath juxtaposed with euthanasia (Aktion T4), compulsory sterilizations, human experimentation and mass murder performed by physicians in the Third Reich (I hesitate to say Nazi Doctors as so many do, because not all who participated in these barbaric actions were actually SS nor even Nazi party members, though many of course were), I came upon this interesting piece of information in the Wiki article on the Oath:

In Germany during the Third Reich, medical students did not take the Hippocratic Oath, although they knew the ethic of “nil nocere” — do no harm.

While there have been many versions of the Hippocratic Oath, and indeed some modern medical societies administer completely oaths governing ethical behavior, I have been unable to find a text of the Oath used in Nazi Germany which replaced the Hippocratic Oath during those years – if indeed any oath at all was administered.

Question

Was there a custom Third Reich medical oath? If so, what is the text of that oath (preferably in English)? Or was there no oath at all?

What’s the reason for wider streets in eastern Germany?

I heard that in the GDR towns were planned so that most streets were wide enough for tanks to get through – in order to be able to fight the people more easily if they should rebel (even though it was never done).

Is that true? Can you point me to sources (English or German)? If you have sources not about eastern Germany but the East Block in general (or parts of it), I’d be happy as well.

Can a non-EU national apply for a work permit from within Germany on business visa?

Currently, I’m in a hiring process of a company in Germany as a front-end developer, which is related to software development. The company’s hiring process involves visiting the office for a few days and, during the visit, arriving at a decision on a job offer. The company has put me in contact with an agent who is handling the visa process. For the visit to the company’s office, the agent registered an appointment for business visa two weeks ago. The appointment is scheduled in the second week of September. Additionally, there will be a wait of about 2 weeks to actually get the visa after the appointment.

Yesterday, the agent also registered an appointment for a work visa, because the queue is long and could result in a long wait in case of a job offer by the company.

My question: If on the visit, the company extends a job offer and I sign a contract while still being in Germany, can’t I apply for a work permit and temporary residence permit from within Germany and wait for them to get approved? Is the exit and re-entry with a work visa even necessary?

Were the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany de facto allies in September 1939?

“A German and a Soviet officer shaking hands at the end of the Invasion of Poland.” (source)

On the 17th of September 1939 the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east, following a German invasion from the west which started 2 weeks prior.

It’s taken for a fact in Poland that at the time Soviets and Nazis were allies, per secret protocols of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact.

treaty included a secret protocol that divided territories of
Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland into Nazi and
Soviet “spheres of influence”, anticipating potential “territorial and
political rearrangements” of these countries (Wikipedia)

On the other hand for example in the US many people believe that Soviets and Nazis were always enemies (you can find such a claims for example in comments to Did the USSR have 21 thousand tanks at the beginning of WW2?).

Availability of public transportation in Germany and Austria on December 31

We are travelling through Europe during December and currently we need to travel intercontinental on the 31st of December. We need to get from the Munich region to Vienna. Assuming we can get to the city, would public transport be operational during this period? In some countries public transport is shut down during the festive season and we would rather move our travel dates if this is the case.
