Do my kitten’s ears look like they have mites?

He’s a ~12 week old rescue, and his ears look a bit mangy. He’s going to the vet in about a week, but I’m wondering if it’s necessary to take him sooner, especially since we’ve adopted another rescue kitten who might be vulnerable.

If it’s important, he’s got an upper respiratory infection and is on antibiotics and L-Lysine.

<div>My girlfriend brought a new one home and i let them hang out today while i supervised them. But the old cat swats it and hisses. The kitten does this too while getting swatted. The old cat is female, the kitten is male. Our older cat is only about 7 or 8 months. Will they get used to one another? I wish i could have researched matters first.</div>
