Dell Inspiron 5520 laptop wifi shows limited connection

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit installed. It works fine for a couple of hours, and suddenly the wifi start showing limited connection and I’m unable to access the internet while other devices, such as phones and tablets, are working fine at the same time.

Now when I disconnect and reconnect the laptop’s wifi or I disable and re-enable the wifi, it starts working, or if I leave it alone for some time it reconnects by itself after 5-10 minutes.

I have:
• Dell Wireless 1704 802.11b/g/n
• Driver version: 6.30.59.26
• Driver date: 7/9/2012
• Wireless adapter: Broadcom

I’m not sure if there is any hardware issue. I have tried reinstalling the wifi driver, but I had no luck.

Are MMORPG, specifically WoW, limited by their latency in terms of FPS?

It sounds crazy, but I’ve been doing a lot of reading on exactly why WoW performs like a turd, even on a 1080Ti / 8700k OC’d and overall, a high-end machine.

Overclocking the CPU yielded great results, but after ~4.7Ghz, my returns were, at best, minimal, as such, running at 5.0Ghz makes no difference.

So I was thinking:

The server issues data to the CPU. The CPU issues draw calls to my GPU. My GPU can be downclocked by ~40-50%, it still won’t affect FPS. My CPU is clearly hit its ceiling.

So, then, could it very well be that, say, on a ~80-90ms connection, my FPS would be limited due to how much it could output, since the GPU is basically waiting?

Mysql grant limited by IPv6 subnet

I want to permit access to a mysql server over IPv6 and limit access to the particular account to our ULA subnet we are using (fdd7:03d7:6247::/48).

The manual seems to suggest that wildcards are valid in the host when using IPv4, but how do you do this with IPv6?

You can specify wildcards in the host name. For example, ‘user_name’@’%.example.com’ applies to user_name for any host in the example.com domain, and ‘user_name’@’192.168.1.%’.

I have tried all these values which seemed like they should be valid.

Using the % only in the host field works, so I know I have the password, and server setup properly.

The server has DNS resolution disabled with the skip-name-resolve, and I don’t really want to enable it, and mess around with setting up reverse DNS zones for the ULA address space.

To repeat, how do I grant access for a user only if they connect from the fdd7:03d7:6247::/56 network?

microsoft word eqarray limited to 3 equations

In microsoft word 2016 I cannot enter a system of more than 3 equations using eqarray(). It works fine up to 3 but 4 or more equations and it will not convert to “professional.” Is this intended behavior? If so is there any way to workaround? I know that I can align along = with any number of equations but I would like to be able to set multiple alignment points, as in eqarray.

FFMPEG expand limited range to full range

I am working on a recipe to convert Avid DNxHD files which are rec.709 “legal” range (15-235 in 8bpc) to .png files which are “full” range (0-255). In looking around it seems that “colorspace” could do this, but I am quite new to FFMPEG filters and I can’t seem to get it to work… I’ve looked all over the place but not found a solution to this simple question

-i video.mov -fv yadif=0:0:0,colorspace=srgb transcode_%04d.png just throws an error, and I assume I just don’t know the proper syntax (no real example for this in the manual, that I could find).

Separately i thought this might work: -i video.mov -vf yadif=0:0:0,scale=in_range=tv:out_range=full transcode_%04d.png. This runs without complaining, but the output .png’s are still in legal range.

Internet wireless connected with limited access, Windows Vista

I had some malware in my computer so I did a bit of manual work to remove it including resetting TCP/IP.

Now the malware is gone. I can see my home wireless network and I can get connected to it, but when connected I get the Internet wireless connected with limited access message.

When I go to the IE I cannot browse. When I tried to ping 192.168.1.1 I got an Error Code 1231 Unconnected Network Problem.

I have deactivated my Windows firewall as I thought it could be hyperactive security. Still no luck. I have Norton, but it is not active. I have also Avast and AVG installed, but they are not active.

Any ideas?

I have limited samples for one class, unlimited samples for the other class. Need to balance?

I want my machine learning algorithm to learn the difference between two classes, actually picture of X or picture of something else.

My sample data is:

  • 500 pictures of X (I know it is low, unfortunately I can’t do much about it)
  • 1,000,000 pictures of something else

Question: Should I do the training with all of the 1,000,000 pictures of something else?
Or would such an imbalance have negative effects? For instance would it kind of “drown” the other data?

Notes:

  • Computing power and time is not an issue.
  • In the real world, pictures of X make up 5% to 10% of the data, so I don’t think I have a class imbalance problem.
  • In case that matters, I am planning to use Keras and Tensorflow with Flatten/Dense relu/Dense softmax/AdamOptimizer/sparse_categorical_crossentropy.

Granting OU-limited read AND write admin privileges to On-Premises Exchange Server 2016

I’ve successfully created a limited Management role, and assigned a user to it, that allows a junior admin only two things via the ECP web page:

— Reset passwords in a particular Org Unit

— Create new users in the same

The write privileges are no problem: you just pick the scope.
However they really shouldn’t see the AD data (users, groups) for any other OU. But when they log in, the Whole World is listed.

Everything I’ve read seems to give no flexibility to the Read Scope — that it must be implicit and include the entire Organization: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335146(v=exchg.150).aspx#ImplicitScopes

I know that’s an irrational restriction, and there’s a way to do what I want, and that it’s going to be much more involved than I would ever want, but that it is possible, so I was hoping to be pointed in the right direction.
