Documentation for Drupal Commerce 2 stores [on hold]

I am trying to set up stores on an existing site that we did not set up.

Not sure where the documentation is for displaying store specific stores and products per store.

I can create the store and select to show which product in which store, add a view that will filter on the indexed store id.

How to go from one store to the other, and how to see the products in each store?

There seems to be very little documentation on using stores after the creation

When to use wide column stores instead of document based stores

I have some experience with document based stores (MongoDB and CouchDB) and I am interested in exploring wide column databases.

Based on my initial exploration I can grasp a basic understanding of how wide column stores are different, but I do not really understand in which type of operations they are a better fit than an indexed document store.

My initial impression is that column stores are better if the column combinations for the queries are highly dynamic (no indexed view really required) and/or if there is a high rate of writing (that triggers map-reduce indexes in a document store).

Performance wise, it seems that column stores might be better if I have documents with many properties but not all of them are needed. Document stores seems to promote that the whole document will be retrieved, but not sure how much impact this really has. Maybe the document needs to have many filtered columns to make a difference?

Also I got the impression that column stores “might” be more performant for multi-tenant systems which shared database where one of the columns holds the tenant id and maybe another one the roles.

And I am getting the feeling that wide column stores are very good for the queries done by data analysis applications, where there is a large set of collected data for each entry, only few fields must be extracted and the combination of columns is totally random.

My Question: What types of queries are better handled in wide column stores as opposed to document stores?

Targetting different App Stores with Android Studio

I have a Android Studio project that builds an NDK based app using Gradle and CMakefile for the Google Play store.

So far, so good.

But now I want to build a variant of this app for Amazon’s store, which means that it will link against Amazon’s IAP (In App Purchase) framework, and no longer uses Google’s IAB (In App Billing) framework.

How would I go about adding this new APK target using Android Studio?

Do I replicate the whole project, and use a separate ./build.gradle and ./app/build.gradle file?

Do I just create a mirror of ./app/ and have ./altapp/ and ./app/ both referenced by the ./build.gradle file?

Where would I put the split, and how much would I share between the two builds?

Product images in multiple stores using JSON API

I have four stores created, and I’m trying to upload a single image for the same product in each of the stores.

My issue is that to get an image to show in the category front end view, I need to specify "small_image" in the "types" field:

{
  "entry": {
      "mediaType": "image",
      "position": 0,
      "disabled": false,
      "types": ["small_image"],
      "content":{
        "base64_encoded_data": "ENCODED_IMAGE",
        "type": "IMAGE_MIME",
        "name": "IMAGE_FILENAME"
    }
  }
}

However, when viewing the items in each store, it shows four of the same image.

I have tried loading a single image to the default store, and it shows when viewing the item in each store, but the categories in the stores show no images except for the default store.

I have tried loading a single image to the all store ID (rest/all/V1/products/{{SKU}}/media), and that just shows once when viewing the item, but has no category image.

I have spent a loooong time on this, using all the different images types, and can’t find a combination that works.

So, my question is, how do I load a single image that shows in the categroy view, and only once for each item in each store?

How to change base_url of other stores?

I exported a live database from a magento installation with 2 websites and 3 different stores and imported it on another magento installation.

I already changed the base_url of the main store, but how can I change the base_url of the other stores as well? They are still the same as on live.

Cross-platform calendar that stores data locally – I want to sync it myself

I’m looking for a calendar application, ideally one that can run on windows, Mac, and iOS. I want my data to be available offline, and — here’s the kicker — I don’t want to store my data on Google’s servers, nor Microsoft’s, nor Apple’s. I want the data for the calendar to be stored locally, under my sole control.

I might then sync the data file myself using dropbox, spideroak, file transporter, or some other system. The point is I don’t want my data stored on someone else’s servers. under someone else’s control.
